What to do if seedlings die: pay attention to the soil

Darkening and curvature of the stem, lodging of seedlings, brown plaque on shoots, spots on leaves and other similar signs indicate serious problems with the seedlings.

Gardeners especially often encounter the situation where seedlings rise and then fall and die completely.

If this happens, then there is a high probability that the whole problem is in the soil, says the expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

For example, such a problem is observed when it comes to peat soil. If it is used in its pure form, then problems cannot be avoided.

It seems like the seedlings were watered just recently, but the soil is dry as gunpowder again. But that's just on the surface. The soil in the root zone is very wet.

If you overwater the plants, they may rot or get sick. Therefore, the most reliable way to save the seedlings is to transplant them into different soil.

There is a universal recipe for soil for seedlings: 10 parts turf soil, 0.5 parts river sand, 2.5 parts ash and 0.5 parts lime.

Earlier we told you how many years you can’t plant garlic in the same place.
