Bad neighbors

Strawberries will not grow well next to plants that belong to the carnation family.

You shouldn't plant sunflowers next to strawberries. This plant will also create shade, depriving the strawberries of the necessary amount of light.

Raspberries are a bad neighbor for strawberries, because they can literally “pull” all the moisture out of the soil.

It is not advisable to plant nightshade crops near berries. Potatoes or tomatoes will be especially harmful for strawberries.

These plants will deprive the berries of essential nutrients. As a result, it is unlikely that you will get a good harvest of tasty and juicy berries.

What can be planted

Marigolds can be planted near strawberries. These flowers will protect the plant from pests.

Tulips and irises will have a positive effect on strawberry fruiting.

Garlic and onions will also repel all unwanted insects from the strawberry bed.

Sorrel, spinach and lettuce will be good neighbors for it.

Earlier, the expert explained how to feed strawberries to increase yield.
