According to tomato growers, the use of yeast fertilizer for tomato seedlings leads to a significant increase in crop yield.
A solution of baker's yeast, prepared using a special technology, has a beneficial effect on plants.
The roots of such seedlings develop rapidly, increasing in length, and mastering the entire volume of the soil lump, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

Nutritious mash with single-celled fungi is considered the most effective growth and root formation stimulator.
Getting into the soil, microorganisms react with the organic elements present, due to which the roots of seedlings are saturated with oxygen. The nutrition of such seedlings improves several times, the stems are formed thick, and the leaves are fleshy.
Useful properties of yeast feeding of tomato seedlings
- accelerates the development of the root system;
- inhibits the activity of phytopathogens;
- improves mineral nutrition of seedlings;
- prevents plants from stretching;
- activates the development of beneficial bacteria and other microorganisms in the substrate, significantly improving the microbiological environment;
- neutralizes unfavorable factors when growing on a windowsill;
- increases the immunity of tomato seedlings and other vegetable crops.
Liquid Fertilizer Recipe
1. The solution must be prepared in a glass jar with a capacity of at least 2 liters, since the yeast produces a thick foam during fermentation.
2. Dilute 10 g of fresh pressed yeast in 1.5 l of warm raw water (temperature no more than +36°C), add 1 teaspoon of sugar, stir.
3. Place the solution near a radiator or in the sun for 2 hours, covering the neck of the jar with gauze folded in several layers.
4. Mix the liquid and feed the plants at the roots and on the leaves.
If your tomato seedlings are growing in a cold greenhouse or on a balcony, then only feed them with yeast if the air temperature is above +15°C. In cold conditions, yeast fungi stop their activity and the entire effect of feeding disappears.
The first time the yeast infusion is used for tomato seedlings before picking, a few days before. At this time, it is very important to focus on rooting the seedlings and developing a branched root system.
The second time tomato bushes are fertilized with mash a month after picking. At this stage, the roots master the entire volume of the soil lump in the planting container, so that after planting in the beds they immediately begin to master the soil and enter the phase of budding and active flowering.
Young cucumbers, peppers, eggplants and cabbage respond well to application of fertilizer with yeast under the root and on the leaves. It is more convenient to water seedlings under the root from a syringe, and to carry out foliar treatment from a room sprayer.
May your tomato seedlings grow strong on your windowsill!
