Brigadier General of the Polish Army Dariusz Mendrala announced that a base for the accommodation of American military personnel had been built on the territory of the republic.
It is emphasized that the said facility is designed for 1,000 military personnel. It is located in the village of Świętoszów in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
Mendrala noted: “The base is located in the southwest of Poland,” as reported by TASS , citing local media.
According to the serviceman, this military facility will perform a number of functions.
The need for a base
The Polish general explained: "We will use this headquarters for the operational collection and receipt of supplies."
In addition, according to Mendrala, it is planned to carry out the adjustment of military equipment before its redeployment to the “tactical assembly area.”
It is also emphasized that both US and NATO military personnel will be based at the specified facility.
Rumors about the construction of an American base in Poland first appeared in the press in May of this year, 2024.
