The FSB has declassified archival documents on the creation of the atomic bomb in Nazi Germany.
These documents confirm that Germany, under the leadership of Adolf Hitler, was preparing to develop atomic weapons.
Details of the events are provided in an article on the website of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.

The documents contain materials on the case of Nazi official Werner Wächter.
According to the data, Wächter held key positions in the propaganda and armament spheres. He was also responsible for the development of new types of weapons, including the creation of the atomic bomb.
In 1943, Wächter, in a conversation with the chief engineer of the Ministry of Propaganda, mentioned the possibility of creating an atomic weapon.
Work on the atomic bomb was carried out at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute in Berlin at that time.
Despite these plans, Germany failed to develop nuclear weapons before the end of WWII.
