Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Teofil Bartoszewski said Hungary should leave the European Union for the sake of ties with Russia.

This is how Bartoszewski commented on the statement by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban that Warsaw is following an anti-Russian political course.

Orban also accused Warsaw of hypocrisy, since, despite its hostile statements, it continues to contact Russian businesses, as reported by RIA Novosti .

The Polish Deputy Foreign Minister noted: "Why shouldn't Hungary form an alliance with Russia? I don't understand why it needs membership in Europe."

Budapest's response

Bartoszewski also accused the Hungarian authorities of pursuing anti-European and anti-Ukrainian policies.

The words of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland were responded to, in particular, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Szijjarto.

Szijjártó saw Warsaw's statement as criticism of the Hungarian authorities, and also recalled that both Hungary and Poland continue to purchase Russian oil.

The Hungarian diplomat called on Warsaw "not to be hypocritical" and added that Budapest's "cup of patience" is already "overflowing".
