A Russian tourist has been ordered off a cruise ship for allegedly causing trouble on board.
Passenger Ilya Strokov was given half an hour to collect his things and disembark the SH Diana liner.
The ship was heading to Antarctica, but due to a breakdown it was forced to change course and head to Argentina, TASS reports.
The Russian said that during breakfast the captain approached him and ordered him to abandon ship: “They gave me thirty minutes to get ready.”
The reason given was that Strokov allegedly sowed discontent among passengers and wanted to organize a riot.
The ship arrived at the port of Ushuaia in Argentina. The liner never reached Antarctica. The company that organized the cruise confirmed the malfunction.
Among the ship's passengers are Russians who demanded a refund for the interrupted cruise and even went on a hunger strike.
The company offered its own solution to the issue: a 50% refund of the amount spent or a 65% certificate to pay for another cruise.
But not all travelers agreed to this and continued to demand payment of the entire amount that was spent on the cruise.
