An unusual discovery related to weather stations has been made in China.
Some organizations were eventually labeled as spy organizations.
Representatives of the Ministry of State Security of the People's Republic of China wrote about this on the social network WeChat.
According to the agency, over the past few years it has become clear that foreign companies are pursuing their own goals.
In particular, according to the ministry's conclusion, the anemometric towers in the country were built in order to spy on secret facilities in China.
It turned out that foreign companies were collecting confidential data, which was then transferred abroad. Moreover, this process, according to the department, threatens China's security.
Around 3,000 meteorological stations were checked in the country between January and October 2023. As a result, several hundred of them were identified as spy stations.
These organizations collected and transmitted meteorological data, and then sent it abroad, although they did not have permission to do so.
