The 274-meter tanker caused the blocking of transit of ships through the Bosphorus Strait.
The information was reported on Thursday, December 26, by the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
The Bosphorus has been temporarily closed to transit ships in both directions, RIA Novosti reports, citing Turkish authorities.

The crew of the tanker Cordelia Moon encountered a breakdown.
Technical problems on this vessel caused the closure of the strait that connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara.
The tanker set out to sea from the Turkish port of Yalova (Sea of Marmara) under the flag of Panama and was heading to Novorossiysk.
The nature of the breakdown has not been disclosed. The time frame for reopening the road has not yet been announced.
A similar situation occurred in November of this year, when the tanker Nazan, heading to Russia, also paralyzed traffic along the Bosphorus.
Then the ship's rudder broke. But that tanker was almost two and a half times smaller in length - 114 meters.
Cordelia Moon is 274 metres long.
