Over the past 24 hours, 8 fires have been extinguished in the forested areas of Yakutia. Details are reported by TASS with reference to the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the region.
It is noted that the fire occurred over an area of over 4.7 thousand hectares.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 67 natural fires have now been recorded in the republic.
It was also noted there that, according to the Avialesookhrana data, 8 fires were extinguished in 24 hours. The number of localized fires was 8.
Space monitoring indicates that the number of populated areas where there is a smoke screen is 19. No poisoning by substances resulting from combustion has been recorded.
Yakutia has a large forest area. It is 256.1 million hectares - more than 80% of the territory. Due to forest fires, a federal emergency regime was declared on July 1.
