A pensioner from St. Petersburg lost 40 million rubles due to telephone scammers

Telephone scammers continue to manage to deceive citizens, depriving them of their savings.

Sooner or later, such situations end with criminal liability for the perpetrators.

Fraudsters deceived an elderly woman, as a result of which she lost 40 million rubles. Details are reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the city and region.

It is noted that the woman was contacted by strangers who convinced her to give them her passport details, the details for accessing her personal account.

According to the press service, the woman believed the words of the attackers, so she carried out all the actions. Soon, 40 million rubles were written off from her account.

It was also noted that the police are currently searching for the perpetrators.

It is added that a criminal case has now been opened under the article on fraud.
