Animal rights groups OneWhale and NOAH have reported that the so-called "Russian spy whale" has been shot dead in Norway.
In particular, we are talking about the beluga whale Hvaldimir. He was previously suspected of espionage because of the special harness he wore.
Animal rights activists emphasized: “Our beloved whale was shot with a firearm,” as reported by RIA Novosti .

The animal first became known in the spring of 2019, when Norwegian fishermen first saw the logo of one of the St. Petersburg companies on it.
The whale later became known as the beluga whale that "escaped from Russian captivity" and also as the "Russian spy whale."
The Death of Hvaldimir
It was later revealed that Hvaldimir was found dead on August 31, 2024.
Animal rights activists have announced their intention to seek a criminal investigation into the incident.
A corresponding report was filed with the Sandnes police district in Norway.
