Bear that attacked two Russians mauled 35 dogs at local shelter

A bear, previously suspected of attacking two people, attacked a dog shelter in Luchegorsk, Primorsky Krai.

At night he tore to pieces 35 dogs that were unguarded.

The dogs were kept in kennels at the shelter, Olga Zamyshlyaeva, director of the "Friend" shelter, explained to RIA Novosti .

On Monday, September 23, a bear attacked two men in a summer house near the village of Luchegorsk.

The day before the tragic incident, a bear killed a dog in the same village.

According to the regional Department of Internal Affairs, the site of the bear attack on the dog shelter has been cordoned off.

Police and hunting officials have begun searching for and shooting the bear, which may be injured or have rabies.

Due to the current situation, schools have been advised not to let children go home without their parents.
