American media outlets have reported that an American Airlines Boeing plane's landing gear tire exploded during takeoff.
It is explained that the explosion caused the subsequent fire of the said aircraft part.
American Airlines spokesman Alfredo Garduño commented on the situation as follows: “The problem arose with the tires of the Boeing 737-800 type,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
It is indicated that the incident was recorded in Florida, in the city of Tampa.
Critical situation
The flight in question was cancelled, Garduño added.
All passengers on the plane, which was damaged by a fire and a tire explosion, were removed from the flight and moved back to the airport terminal.
The aircraft crew also left the plane. There is currently no information about possible casualties.
The American press has repeatedly pointed out that Boeing aircraft quite often suffer from one or another technical malfunction.
