The Finnish Transport and Communications Authority Traficom has named the real reason for the break in communication cables between Sweden and Finland.
The damage to the fibre optic cables between Sweden and Finland was caused by construction work, not sabotage.
The cable break was caused by construction work, the Finnish Transport and Communications Authority Traficom said .

Previously, the Swedish Telecommunications Authority reported that two cables belonging to the telecommunications company GlobalConnect had been cut.
Swedish authorities have not ruled out that the damage could have been caused by sabotage.
According to sources, one of the cables, which is quite possible, could have been damaged by an excavator that was carrying out excavation work.
Both cables apparently broke during construction work.
The Department of Transport and Communications considered the break to be a normal situation during repair work.
This is not the first time that cables have been cut in northern Europe in recent weeks.
