Preliminary data on the cause of the fire at a facility that is part of the Roscosmos state corporation has been disclosed.
Journalists learned from a source in the security forces about the nature of the fire at NPO Avtomatiki in Yekaterinburg.
According to preliminary information, the source of the fire is “domestic in nature,” RIA Novosti reports.
The company itself has not yet announced the reason. The company's press service only noted that no welding work was carried out at the site.
The roof of an 8-story chemical production facility was on fire. The fire spread over an area of approximately 800 square meters. At the same time, the roof collapsed by 500 square meters.
The fire started in the mechanical workshop. Later, the fire spread to the neighboring workshop. Firefighters localized the fire.
NPO Avtomatiki also confirmed that the production site had been suspended.
