There are casualties as a result of a powerful explosion at a gas station in Grozny.
Four people, including two young children, died as a result of the explosion.
The blast wave threw the burning tank towards a residential building near which children were located, RIA Novosti writes.
They watched what was happening at the gas station from a safe distance, but were unable to escape.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the death of two adults and two children.
Investigators from the Grozny Investigative Committee have begun work at the site of the explosion. The location of the owner of the gas station, a local businessman, is being established.
The issue of initiating a criminal case is also being decided.
Rescuers have extinguished the fire at the gas station and have begun to douse the structures.
