Former official Nikolai Lyubimov was sent to a pre-trial detention facility.
The 53-year-old former head of the Ryazan region is suspected of receiving a bribe.
The details were reported on Thursday, December 12, by the press service of the Basmanny Court of Moscow, TASS reports.

Lyubimov was placed under arrest for two months. This measure of restraint was chosen against the backdrop of an investigation into the receipt of a bribe on an especially large scale (from 1 million rubles).
Investigators established that the former official received cash and other property, and in return patronized the bribe giver.
After his post as governor, Lyubimov worked in the Federation Council. On Wednesday, December 11, the politician resigned early from his duties as a senator.
The official governed the Ryazan region from 2017 to 2022.
