A strong squall in St. Petersburg led to an emergency at a construction site.

A thunderstorm and powerful wind hit the Northern capital on the evening of Monday, July 1, RIA Novosti reports.

Due to bad weather, three planes that were supposed to land at Pulkovo diverted to alternate airfields.
At the same time, a squally wind knocked down a crane at one of the construction sites.
Social networks report that this happened on Bolshevikov Avenue. During the fall, the crane tore off the electrical wires.
According to preliminary information, no one was injured as a result of the incident.
The city was hit by bad weather after a heat wave. In St. Petersburg, temperatures above +33°C had been recorded before.
Now the Northern capital has been hit by heavy rain, thunderstorms, and hurricane-force winds with gusts of up to 27 m/s.
Earlier, in the Penza region, a glider crashed from a height of almost 1 km.
