A law enforcement officer from Lipetsk accidentally killed an acquaintance.
Details of the incident were reported by the press service of the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The incident occurred in Lipetsk on Thursday, December 12, at 13:00 Moscow time.
The police driver was in a service car.
As a result of careless handling of his service weapon, he inflicted a gunshot wound on his friend, the department’s website reports.
The victim was alive when the ambulance arrived.
The young man was taken to the hospital and they tried to save him, but after some time the doctors had to declare the patient dead. The deceased was 23 years old.
The regional police press service reported that all the circumstances of the incident are currently being established.
For this purpose, a number of investigative actions have been organized and forensic examinations have been ordered.
