A Russian man beat his 10-year-old son and then set fire to the apartment where the child was.
The boy died, law enforcement agencies reported.
The incident occurred in one of the apartment buildings on Chernyakhovsky Street, RIA Novosti reports.
The body of a ten-year-old boy was found at the site of the fire.
The investigation believes that there was a conflict between the deceased and his father.
The man beat the child, then started a fire and fled.
The child suffered head and body injuries, but died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
It is also specified that the boy was missing a little finger on one hand. It is assumed that the father cut off the child's finger. All the circumstances are yet to be clarified.
The man has been detained. It is known that his wife had died earlier. The boy and his father lived together.
A criminal case has been opened. Law enforcement officers are questioning witnesses, interrogating the suspect, and a number of examinations have been ordered.
