The resignation request of the mayor of Orsk, which was flooded after a dam burst, has been granted.
Orenburg Region Governor Denis Pasler approved Kozupitsa's dismissal.
Additionally, a date will be set for the competition to select candidates for the new mayor of Orsk, the press service of the regional administration reported on the Telegram channel.
Kozupitsa will soon send a statement of early resignation to local deputies.
It will be considered at a meeting of the Orsk City Council on July 10.

Earlier it was reported that 1,121 people, including 331 children, were rescued from the flooded Orsk.
