Second-hand clothes have a specific smell.
Moreover, it can be difficult to remove it even during washing.
But you can get rid of it using several effective methods.

Ammonia
To eliminate the smell, items can be soaked in a special solution.
Add 20 ml of ammonia to five liters of water.
The clothes should be immersed in this solution and left for an hour.
Afterwards, it must be rinsed thoroughly and washed in the washing machine.
It is advisable to dry things in the fresh air for about two days.
Essential oils
Add any essential oil to a bowl of water. Three or four drops will be enough.
We soak the things in this water, leaving them for 15 hours. Then they need to be rinsed and washed.
"Dry" method
You can get rid of the second-hand smell on things without soaking.
Place the clothes in a bag and add dried lavender or coffee beans.
The amount of these ingredients can be adjusted independently depending on the intensity of the smell.
The package should be closed and left for two days. Then the items should be hung in the fresh air for a day.
Special deodorants
It is important to remember that deodorants can “mask” the smell, but not remove it.
There are also deodorants that are intended for clothing.
They can be sprayed on items to help reduce the intensity of the second-hand smell.
Earlier we talked about whether it is possible to iron wet clothes.
