White is a tricky color because sometimes just one use is enough for the item to require emergency bleaching.
What should you do if you don’t have any special bleach at hand?
Smart housewives know which household products can easily replace bleach.

What to add to washing water
Every housewife should have white spirit vinegar in her home, since almost no washing or cleaning operation can be done without it.
To achieve perfect whiteness, soak sheets in a mixture of 1 cup vinegar and 5 liters of water overnight.
Lemon juice has the same miraculous properties. So if you suddenly run out of vinegar at home, soak the sheets in a mixture of the juice of five lemons dissolved in five liters of water.
To restore the snow-white color of cotton items, use soda in the same concentration as vinegar: a glass of powder per five liters of water.
Hydrogen peroxide will also work, but you will need much less of it: just a third of a standard bottle of 3% solution, which can be purchased at any pharmacy, needs to be added to the washing gel to achieve a snow-white effect.
