The washing machine does not handle all things equally well.
There is a list of items that are best avoided from being washed.
What can't be washed in the washing machine
The first accessory that you should avoid washing in a washing machine is a tie. The thing is that silk and wool lose their shape when washed.

In addition, silk items need to be dry cleaned, and most of them are marked as not machine washable. If machine washable, then the item must be washed in a bag.
You should also give up the idea of washing underwear. This primarily concerns bras, the clasps of which can damage the inside of the machine and tear other things.
The same applies to other things with various fasteners and zippers. They must be fastened, and even better - turned inside out, so as not to accidentally damage the insides of the household appliance.
Previously, we wrote about whether you need to turn things inside out before washing.
