Depression is a very common mental disorder.

This condition manifests itself as depression of a person’s mental activity, and the symptoms can be very different: sleep disorders, insomnia, general weakness, lack of appetite, aggressive behavior, increased fatigue, anxiety, decreased libido, thoughts about the lack of meaning in life, and even pain in various parts of the body.

It is known that women suffer from depression twice as often as men, but usually no one wants to go to a psychotherapist or psychiatrist with this problem.

Sometimes this condition goes away on its own and really doesn't need the intervention of specialists, but most often a miracle doesn't happen. Without treatment, depression can last for several months or even years, and sometimes it doesn't go away even after decades.

How to get rid of depression

There are several options. First, you can undergo a course of psychotherapy. To do this, you need to find a good specialist.

He will be able to find out what is the cause of the depressive disorder in each case individually and will select effective methods, thanks to which it is possible to cure the soul. This process will take about 3-6 months.

Secondly, the doctor may prescribe special medications – antidepressants.

Sedatives and tranquilizers will not help here, so there is no point in trying to find a cure on your own.

Thirdly, it is possible to combine psychotherapeutic and drug treatment. It is good if during the main therapy the patient will do yoga, dancing, swimming, aerobics or some other active and interesting type of activity. Hobbies are guaranteed to reduce the duration of treatment.

Any person in a state of depression should contact a specialist and undergo treatment. This is a long and difficult work on yourself, but the result is worth the effort.
