Why the oven can break down
You probably know that you can’t turn on a microwave oven without food in it, since the principle of operation of the device is to absorb microwaves by the food that you heat in it.
Therefore, if there is nothing inside the microwave oven, it will run idle and thus break down sooner or later.
However, this also applies to those dishes that are significantly smaller than its chamber. Therefore, if you heat up a small sandwich weighing less than 100 grams in the microwave, the oven also works practically idle.
If you need to heat something small, then put a cup of water in the microwave along with the plate, which will absorb the microwaves and thus protect the device from breaking.
