Svetlana Strigunkova is a defendant in a case of receiving bribes on an especially large scale.
As the investigation found out, between 2021 and 2023, the defendant in the case and her accomplices received over 170 million rubles.
The head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, made this statement in an interview with RIA Novosti .
It is noted that Strigunkova kept about 70% of the sums received as bribes for herself. And only the remaining 30% were distributed among her accomplices.
Circumstances of the case
It is specified that Svetlana Strigunkova was the first deputy chairman of the Moscow Region government.
As an official, the civil servant facilitated the conclusion of government contracts with construction companies, for which the latter paid her and her accomplices up to 5-10% of the amounts received.
As a result, during their criminal activity, Strigunkova and her accomplices enriched themselves by approximately 170 million rubles.
The former official was detained in April 2024 and was accused of receiving bribes totaling 123 million rubles. At that time, the defendant in the case did not admit her guilt.
