It has become known what charges were brought against the former Deputy Minister of Defense.
The defendant in the case is accused of fraud on an especially large scale.
A RIA Novosti correspondent learned about this from the Moscow City Court, where the appeal against the arrest of the army general was being considered.
We are talking about Dmitry Bulgakov, who does not admit his guilt.
He [General Bulgakov – editor’s note] is not a corrupt official or an embezzler – this is the position taken by the defendant’s defense.
Circumstances of the case
Dmitry Bulgakov was arrested in July 2024.
According to investigators, the general used his official position to lobby the interests of JSC Gryazinsky Food Plant.
This company entered into a contract with Voentorg for the supply of rations. As it later turned out, the individual food rations were of poor quality, while their cost was significantly inflated.
According to investigators, the amount involved is 1.3 billion rubles.
The head of Voentorg, Vladimir Pavlov, and his possible accomplice, Timur Ivanov, are currently under arrest.
