Fraudsters stole over 9 million rubles from an elderly woman. Details are reported by TASS , citing Tatyana Petrova, head of the information and public relations department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Moscow Region.

It is noted that a fake law enforcement officer contacted the woman by phone. He said that they wanted to deceive her. After that, the attacker told the pensioner that bank employees would contact her and solve the problem.

According to Petrova, the woman was convinced to withdraw money and transfer it to a supposedly safe account. The pensioner soon realized the deception.

It is added that a criminal case has been opened. The suspect has been detained. He is in custody. Work is currently underway to identify accomplices.
