A man had an argument with a young woman and beat her in front of passengers on the capital's metro.
The incident occurred at the VDNKh station, the press service of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office reported.
It all happened in one of the cars of an electric train that was moving towards the station.
A verbal conflict occurred between the passenger and the woman, during which the man hit her several times, the prosecutor's office website reported.
When the train arrived at the station, the attacker left the carriage, and the victim was about to continue her journey.
But just before the doors closed, the aggressive passenger turned around and kicked the woman in the stomach. The blow caused the passenger to fall to the floor of the carriage.
The victim required medical attention.
The police soon detained the previously convicted offender. They intend to prosecute him under Article 116 of the Russian Criminal Code (assault).
