Police officers detained a woman for stealing an icon of St. Gabriel. The details are reported by the Moscow Agency, citing the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, Irina Volk.

The theft took place during the day. The scene of the crime was a church located on Nikolo-Yamskaya Street.
It is noted that the woman, being in the specified place, decided to take the icon. She hid it, after which she disappeared from the crime scene.
According to Volk, law enforcement officers located the suspect and then detained her. The woman confessed to committing the theft to help her partner recover.
She noted that a criminal case has now been opened under the article on theft. The defendant has signed a written undertaking not to leave.
