The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry spoke sharply about what is happening in the American political arena.
Sergey Lavrov assessed the recent debates between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
The diplomat spoke on this topic in a comment to VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin. A fragment of the conversation was published on the correspondent's Telegram channel.
Lavrov considers the course of the election campaign in the US to be a failure. He cites the debates between Biden and Trump as an example. He called what is happening "a sad spectacle."
“And if the system of so-called American democracy produces such results or such a course of the election campaign, probably everyone can draw their own conclusions about how all this is orchestrated, how it is arranged,” the head of the department said.
The political debates received a negative assessment not only in Russia. The Americans themselves were dissatisfied with what they saw.
The public was especially disappointed by the current US president. The public recognized Joe Biden as defeated.
But the politician does not intend to give in. He is in no hurry to withdraw his candidacy and his statements demonstrate his determination to follow through on this matter.
