The expert commented on the development of trilateral relations between Washington, Seoul and Tokyo.
The union of three states could become an analogue of NATO in the East Asian region.
This opinion was voiced by Professor of the Institute of Oriental Countries Anatoly Koshkin, RIA Novosti reports.
During a roundtable discussion dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the US use of nuclear weapons on the battlefield, the essence of the unification of the three countries was analyzed.
The United States, Japan and South Korea claim that the three countries have joined together only for economic and cyber purposes.
However, in reality, Koshkin believes, the alliance of Washington, Seoul and Tokyo is nothing more than a prototype of NATO.
This is why Russia is forced to respond to the possible threat from the new alliance by organizing exercises of non-strategic nuclear forces.
As the expert emphasized, this is not a threat from the Russian Federation, but a sign that all military forces of the country are on combat alert and are capable of fighting back if necessary.
