But this will not last forever. There will come a time when Russia and Finland will begin to build relations anew, the former ambassador believes.

The diplomat stressed that it is currently difficult to predict how good relations between Moscow and Helsinki will be in the future.

Today's Finland is very different from the country it was five years ago, notes the former ambassador.

In the current conditions, relations between Russia and Finland will not be the same. The diplomat is sure of this.

After breaking off relations with Moscow, Helsinki moved even closer to the West by joining NATO.

Now there is talk about creating an alliance base on Finnish territory near the border with the Russian Federation.

But no concrete decision has been made yet. Discussions are ongoing.
