US Vice President Kamala Harris' office said her criticism of Israel's stance on Hamas would not harm negotiations with the Palestinian movement.

Senior officials said Harris's remarks would not complicate a deal to end the Middle East conflict.

Political figures explained: “We resolutely refute the contrary claims,” as reported by RIA Novosti , citing CNN.

The remarks were reportedly in response to concerns raised by an unnamed senior Israeli official who questioned the ceasefire deal between Tel Aviv and Hamas.

Explanation of position

Harris' office also said: "This is the same message that US President Joe Biden once conveyed."

The US vice president's aides noted that the moment had come for negotiations and the release of hostages.

However, the Biden administration acknowledged that there could be some tension over Harris' statements.

As the Western press has previously indicated on numerous occasions, the US Vice President is a supporter of applying additional pressure on Israel.
