It included citizens of many countries of the world, including Russia and Belarus.

“And by doing this we are allegedly threatening the security of the Schengen area, the Baltic countries claim,” Szijjártó pointed out.

The official emphasized that Russians and Belarusians are still allowed to enter Hungary and the Schengen area only with a visa, and residence permits are obtained in accordance with the procedure established by law.

Szijjártó noted that all EU countries, including Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, have a similar right.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the accusations against Budapest a lie that was created as part of a “Baltic propaganda campaign” directed against Hungary for maintaining contacts with Russia.
