Donald Trump was saved not by a US Secret Service agent, but by a local police officer.
This is stated in a report by Republican Congressman Clay Higgins.
The hero of those events was not a secret service agent, but a Pennsylvania police officer.

Not only the Secret Service, but also local law enforcement officers were involved in ensuring Trump's security.
They were members of the Butler County Police Department's Special Enforcement Unit, Higgins' website says.
Matthew Crooks fired eight shots toward the stands before they started shooting at him. The first shot was fired not by a security officer, but by a police officer.
The congressman calls the officer "really tough." The officer quickly took up the line of fire and shot Crooks, hitting him in the butt of his gun.
The bullet ricocheted and wounded the attacker. He stopped shooting and was killed by a Secret Service sniper in the next moments.
But they kept quiet about the efficient work of the local policeman. The special service stated that they were the first to reach Crooks and neutralize him.
However, the report says that local police proved more effective than specially trained agents who decided to "push" the law enforcement officer back and take all the credit for themselves.
