The Kremlin commented on the visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Moscow.

As noted in Moscow, this event is an initiative taken exclusively by the Hungarian side.

This statement was made by Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov. An excerpt from his statement was published on the Telegram channel of journalist Pavel Zarubin.

Let us recall that the purpose of Viktor Orban's visit is said to be a peace mission. Since Hungary presides over the Council of the European Union, the Prime Minister noted that he considers his main mission to be establishing peace in Ukraine.

In this regard, the purpose of Orban's first visit was Kyiv, where the politician met with Volodymyr Zelensky.

As Peskov noted, the initiative came from the Hungarian side literally a couple of days before the planned visit.

The Hungarian Prime Minister is already in the Russian capital; negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Viktor Orban are scheduled for Friday.

Earlier it was reported that Orban named the reason for his visit to Moscow.
