Vladimir Putin spoke about the development of new weapons.

According to the head of state, Russia has the right to begin developing and deploying medium- and shorter-range missiles.

The Russian president made this statement while answering questions from RIA Novosti journalists following his visit to Kazakhstan.

Vladimir Putin recalled that the US had previously withdrawn from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. This step indicates that Washington is ready to begin producing this type of weapon.

In response, Moscow believes that it also has the right to begin developing and, in the future, deploying INF missiles.

We have already, in principle, given the corresponding instructions [on the development of missile systems – editor’s note] to industry, the head of the Kremlin emphasized.

At the same time, Putin recalled the moratorium that the Russian Federation adheres to.

It consists in the fact that Russia will not deploy its systems anywhere until the above-mentioned missile systems appear in some other country. And then the Russian Federation intends to reserve the right to mirror actions.

Earlier it was reported that Putin spoke about US attempts to cut the Palestinian knot.
