The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the Finnish military exercises that were carried out near the Russian border.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, such actions should be regarded as a provocation by the North Atlantic Alliance.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Andrei Nastasin, explained: “NATO is provoking Moscow,” as reported by RIA Novosti .
It is emphasized that the Finnish exercises took place from July 21 to 26.
Russia's reaction
Nastasin added: “The Finnish military maneuvers were carried out near the Russian state border.”
According to the diplomat, the involvement of approximately 1,700 personnel and 300 vehicles was noted.
As the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized, such actions are of a strictly defined nature.
Nastasin also pointed out the fact that Finland is implementing “an accelerated pace of integration into NATO.”
