The Russian Foreign Ministry accused Western countries of failing to make further voluntary contributions to the ICRC budget.
This became impossible due to previously introduced anti-Russian sanctions concerning Gazprombank.
The corresponding statement appeared on the official website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As the Foreign Ministry emphasized, such restrictions harm, first and foremost, the international community.
In particular, Russia has always actively participated in financing the International Committee of the Red Cross.
However, due to anti-Russian sanctions imposed on Gazprombank, this participation has now become impossible.
Just like in 2022, the current Russian contribution was supposed to go towards providing aid to the needy people of Syria. However, for the second time, it has been disrupted due to coercive measures by the West.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that such measures harm a number of international institutions, primarily the ICRC.
