The Shanghai-based company ShanghaiRanking Consultancy conducted research that showed that seven Russian higher education institutions were included in the ranking of the world's leading universities in 2024.
It is emphasized that the corresponding list includes Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State University.
In addition, the statistics note the presence of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and the Ural Federal University, as reported by RIA Novosti .
The Higher School of Economics, Novosibirsk State University and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology also became part of the above list.

Last year, nine Russian universities were included in a similar ranking.
The 2024 statistics did not include the Sechenov Moscow State Medical University.
In addition, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI was not included in the new rating.
The study identifying the best universities in the world has been conducted annually since 2003 and is published in specialized publications.
