State Duma deputy from Crimea, member of the Security Committee Mikhail Sheremet ridiculed the European Union's reaction to the policy of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
As previously reported in foreign media, Europe is considering the possibility of punishing Hungary for Orban visiting Moscow and Beijing.
Sheremet explained: “The European Union is afraid of Budapest because it demonstrates independent views,” as reported by RIA Novosti .

According to the MP, Europe, in turn, is “subservient” to Washington.

The politician also emphasized: “The whole world sees that the collective West is in no way connected with the concept of real democracy.”
According to Sheremet, in contrast to the European Union, Hungary follows a peacekeeping policy.
The MP added that because of his views, Europe is already suffering from significant upheavals, which are primarily reflected in the well-being of ordinary citizens.
As the politician emphasized, the EU can only expect more “protest upheavals” in the future.
