The presidential elections in Georgia are considered to have taken place on December 14.

More than half of the full 300-member Electoral College took part.

This was stated by the CEC speaker Natia Ioseliani at a briefing.

She stressed that the presidential elections are considered to have taken place after more than 170 members of the board have voted.

The voting process, which was broadcast live, proceeded calmly.

The meeting, chaired by the Central Election Commission, is held without the participation of the opposition.

Presumably, at the same time, a protest by opponents of the country's authorities was taking place on the streets.

Presidential elections are taking place in Georgia, during which, for the first time in the country, the president is elected by a 300-member panel.

Opposition parties refused to work in parliament, considering the recent elections to be falsified.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has stated that she will not resign from her post as president, considering the parliament illegitimate.
