The European Parliament has posted an approved petition from Russian-speaking residents of Finland.
The petition was approved after five months of moderation.

The demand arose after the Finnish government closed the checkpoint on the border with the Russian Federation.
According to the document, Helsinki's decision to close the border had a negative impact on Finnish families with relatives in Russia.
Legal residents of Finland are experiencing difficulties visiting their loved ones.
The petition was signed by more than 100 people.
Finland began introducing border crossing restrictions in November 2023.
The decision of the Finnish authorities is connected with the uncontrolled flow of refugees from third countries.
In response to these measures, Russian citizens and persons with dual citizenship in Finland decided to create an association.
In this way, they want to achieve the opening of the Finnish border with Russia.
