The US has speculated on what newly elected President Donald Trump might do.
Experts do not rule out that the head of the White House will decide to unfreeze Russian assets.
This is the conclusion reached by the authors of an article for the New York Times .
According to the publication, Trump may well go so far as to try to change the current situation with the frozen assets of the Russian Central Bank.
However, such an initiative may not please the Republicans, who are unlikely to support it.
Moreover, experts believe that Trump’s decision will not ultimately affect the part of the loan that is in Europe.
Let us recall that Moscow has repeatedly spoken about freezing the Central Bank's assets. In total, about 300 billion are currently frozen abroad.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking about the possible confiscation of assets, stated that in such a case Moscow would have every right not to return the funds that Western countries placed in the Russian Federation.
