Maria Zakharova commented on the restrictive measures introduced by Washington in relation to Nord Stream.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry called for sanctions against Biden and Nuland in response.
Zakharova expressed her opinion on the Telegram channel.
Earlier, Washington announced the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions. The restrictions will affect companies that were involved in the construction of Nord Stream 2, as well as several Russian vessels.
The US justified this step by saying that the structures had previously been subject to sanctions in the context of ensuring Europe’s energy security.
Zakharova called this decision an outrage on common sense, since the anti-Russian sanctions were introduced by the outgoing presidential administration.
As Washington emphasized, the next White House administration will be able to express its opinion on this issue on January 20 next year, when Biden's term expires.
Zakharova recalled that it was Biden and Nuland who called for the destruction of Nord Stream.
Therefore, it is these politicians who deserve to be sanctioned.
