If you dream of successfully promoting your business, you need to know the language of non-verbal signals. Pay attention to the following signs.

Facial asymmetry

Asynchronous work of the facial muscles: the emotion on one side of the face is expressed more significantly than on the other - a sure sign that they are only pretending to have an emotion in front of you, without actually experiencing it.

Smile

A smile is not just a beautiful demonstration of your disposition towards your interlocutor, but also a way to relieve nervous tension.

Hence the inappropriate "silly smile" in stressful situations. And that is why babies smile to the delight of their mothers and fathers, who mistakenly believe that this is the beginning of communication.

During a lie, as a situation of increased tension, a smile may appear on the liar's face.

Another reason for its occurrence is an attempt to hide true emotions under a happy facial expression, replacing them with neutral or acceptable ones.

However, the mere presence of a smile does not indicate an attempt to deceive. It is important to be able to recognize a fake smile. Its sure sign is the absence of wrinkles near the eyes.

Eyebrow movements

Complete immobility of the eyebrows is a sure sign of insincere emotions. A person who is truly glad to see you will raise his eyebrows, warmly greeting you.

Compressed lips

Lip movements involuntarily reveal what the interlocutor wants to hide. Compressed, tense lips are a sign of nervousness and stress.

Pursed lips indicate disagreement with what he hears; he has a different opinion. Also, a liar's lips are often dry, which is why he periodically runs his tongue over his lips.

Head tilt

Not many people notice this, but in tense conversations people tend to hold their heads up, in a relaxed environment, when we feel relaxed, we lean slightly towards the interlocutor. Leaning towards a person you find disgusting is incredibly difficult.

Clenched fists

Most often, this indicates irritation when a person restrains his negative emotions.

Neck scratching

This gesture can indicate either insecurity or that someone is trying to mislead you.

Stroking the chin

The most common evaluative gesture is scratching the chin. Next time you make a suggestion or an idea, pay attention to the gestures of those around you.

While thinking, they will stroke their chin. Leaning forward, open palms will mean acceptance of your idea, crossed hands, on the contrary, seem to say: "You were not convincing enough and failed to impress me."

Hand movements

Gestures can tell a lot about a person.

Characteristic gestures that indicate that you are dealing with a liar:

  • scratching nose
  • covering mouth with hand
  • rubbing eyes
  • periodically pulling down the collar of a shirt, straightening a tie
  • touching the earlobe with fingers

By the way, when trying to hide a lie (and in stressful situations), the interlocutor may involuntarily twirl small objects in his hands, thereby trying to distract his brain with these movements and calm down.

Restlessness of legs

Jumping and kicking legs indicate how happy your interlocutor is. If during a conversation the legs are directed towards the exit, it means that the person wants to get rid of your company as soon as possible. A shaking leg also indicates the insincerity of his words.

Sight

A sincere person has a direct, unblinking gaze, he is not afraid to look you straight in the eyes, a liar often avoids direct eye contact, blinks and tries to hide his eyes from strangers, because they are the mirror of the soul, and he is afraid that his insincerity will be easily recognized.

Some people feel ashamed when telling a lie, which is expressed by the appearance of a shifty gaze.

However, if you caught them in an awkward situation and made them feel uncomfortable, such a look may indicate embarrassment.

Voice

Any liar feels excitement, which is easily detected in the voice. Visible signs: change in intonation, speech rate, the appearance of trembling, hoarseness, change in the volume of the voice. The liar may start speaking too quickly or, on the contrary, slowly stretching out the words.

When trying to identify deception, you cannot rely on just one sign; you need to consider them together.

The absence of any non-verbal signs does not mean at all that the interlocutor is absolutely sincere.

Skilled liars can deceive even the most attentive psychologist. But the presence of most evidence of insincerity in non-verbal behavior does not always indicate deception.

Sometimes people feel awkward or guilty for reasons other than trying to deceive you. Recognizing lies requires an individual approach to each specific person and their behavior patterns.

Earlier we talked about friends that a person needs for a happy life.
