State Duma deputy and member of the parliamentary committee on information policy Anton Nemkin gave advice on how to recognize telephone scammers.
Phrases that convey a sense of urgency or panic are a clear sign of a scam, he said.
Deputy Nemkin spoke about this and how to fight fraudsters in an interview with RIA Novosti .

He explained that requests for immediate action on bank accounts or lawsuits are designed to provoke citizens.
Fraudsters want to force their victims to act quickly, without thinking about the consequences.
Nemkin also pointed out another sign of fraud, when citizens receive requests to provide confidential information.
He noted that in this case, fraudsters are trying to find out passwords for bank accounts, credit card numbers or PIN codes.
Real banks and organizations will not ask for such information over the phone.
Scammers may also try to lure citizens by promising prizes and lucrative deals.
The deputy called on Russians to be vigilant and to check information in every suspicious case.
